Papa Joe's Backcountry Marina: MM 79.7 bayside. Built two years after the devastating hurricane of 1935, the marina housed the first Florida Keys' fishing tournament. For many years, Papa Joe's was one of the few stops on the Overseas Highway. It served also as a bar, restaurant, community gathering place and hurricane shelter.

Papa Joe’s Backcountry Marina is back… while currently under construction to bring her back to her former glory, we now offer a full booking service with a contingent of Islamorada hardest working fishing guides. We have drinks, Ice, shirts, hats; and will be offering live bait soon. All Papa Joe's Backcountry Marina's fishing guides are hard working professional Captains who use top quality fishing gear and utilize the latest technology in flats skiffs and bay boats. Our fishing "season" is perpetual - 12 months a year and all of our fishing guides are full time.
