Papa Joe’s Backcountry Marina...

Papa Joe's Backcountry Marina: MM 79.7 bayside. Built two years after the devastating hurricane of 1935, the marina housed the first Florida Keys' fishing tournament. For many years, Papa Joe's was one of the few stops on the Overseas Highway. It served also as a bar, restaurant, community gathering place and hurricane shelter.

Papa Joe’s Backcountry Marina is back… while currently under construction to bring her back to her former glory, we now offer a full booking service with a contingent of Islamorada hardest working fishing guides. We have drinks, Ice, shirts, hats; and will be offering live bait soon. Stay tuned for more information on the many amenities and services that Papa Joe’s Backcountry Marina will be offering in the near future.

It's About the Difference...

Novice to expert, families and kids, groups, corporate, or solo... we can match you with the fishing guide that suits your fishing style and requirements. All of us share the desire to work hard for our anglers and we love to get away to the more remote and less traveled areas. When we're not guiding, more times than not you'll find us (or maybe not) exploring the far corners of the everglades doing what we love to do… fishing.
